Panic gripped a residential society in Gurugram, Haryana, when a 6-foot-long venomous cobra emerged from inside the toilet bowl in a resident's bathroom. A family member heard a hissing sound coming from the toilet while in the bathroom. Upon closer inspection, a massive cobra was spotted inside, sending the entire family into a state of terror.
The family immediately closed the bathroom door from the outside and alerted a wildlife conservation team and rescue experts. News of such a large, venomous snake entering a building in a major society spread quickly, creating an atmosphere of fear among the neighbors. People gathered outside the house, driven by a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
The wildlife rescue team arrived at the scene and promptly assessed the situation. Extracting the snake from the narrow confines of the toilet bowl without harming it was a highly risky and challenging task. Using specialized equipment and a snake-catching pipe, the rescue team members began the operation with great caution.
After nearly an hour of intense effort, the team successfully extracted the 6-foot-long cobra. The snake was captured and secured in a special cloth bag. According to the rescue team officials, the cobra was quite aggressive and had likely reached the upper floor of the building via the sewage pipeline.
The family and society residents breathed a sigh of relief once the snake was captured. The wildlife team transported the cobra to a safe forest area away from human habitation and released it. Experts advise keeping drainage and sewage pipes covered during the monsoon and summer seasons and conducting regular checks to prevent such incidents in bathrooms.
