Two brothers were brutally shot dead in broad daylight in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district due to an old enmity. This double murder sent shockwaves through the area and created immense tension. The brothers were returning home from their fields when assailants, lying in wait, opened indiscriminate fire on them.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers arrived armed with weapons and gave the brothers no chance to react. Hearing the gunshots, locals rushed to the scene, but the accused had already fled, brandishing their weapons in the air. Both brothers died a painful death on the spot.
Upon receiving news of the incident, the Superintendent of Police and a large police force arrived at the location. The bodies were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examinations. A forensic team and a dog squad were summoned to the crime scene to gather crucial evidence. The police have cordoned off the area and launched a search for the accused.
The family alleges a long-standing land dispute with a powerful family in the village. They claim that death threats had been issued multiple times in the past and reported to the police, yet no concrete action was taken.
